Dr. John Jones is one of the great personalities of Quebec rugby. Leaving his native country of Australia for Montreal in 1964, John made his rugby debut with the Montreal Irish. Five years later, in 1984, John two former Champlains formed the Saint-Lambert Locks rugby club.

In addition to his role as builder of these two clubs, John saw himself in charge of the national under-19 tournament for men women for a time. In addition, he was the cornerstone of the Quebec Combined Old Boys.
